What are my options?

There are many contact lens options available. Your eye care provider will take your lifestyle and vision correction needs into consideration when helping you select the right lenses for your eyes.

Here are some of the most common contact lens types:

  • Daily Disposable Soft contact lenses – Our favorite & most popular option! These soft lenses are worn for a single day and disposed of, meaning no need to hassle with contact lens solutions and cases for cleaning and storage. This is the most convenient and safest way to wear contact lenses. Daily replacement is fantastic for active lifestyles. They are great for travel, safe for children, and wonderful for dry eye and allergy suffers.
  • Traditional Soft contact lenses –These soft lenses are worn during the day and then removed at night for cleaning. These lenses generally last until their give expiration date (typically 2 weeks or 1 month) at which point they must be discarded and replaced.
  • Gas Permeable contact lenses – “Hard” contact lenses are rigid gas permeable. This means that they are porous enough to allow oxygen to enter through to the cornea. Hard contact lenses keep their shape on the eye. As such, they are often used for those with high astigmatism, irregular corneas, and a special type is used to curb the progression of nearsightedness in younger wearers (orthokeratology).
  • Scleral contact lenses – Scleral contact lenses are a larger-sized gas permeable lens. Most contact lenses cover the cornea, but these lenses are larger and its edges rest on the white sclera. These lenses require a specialty fit by one of our providers, and are a fantastic solution for irregular corneas, high astigmatism, or severe dry eyes.
  • Colored contact lenses – These are worn to enhance or change the visual color of the iris. They are still prescription contact lenses and need to be treated with the same care you would give to regular lenses. Parameters on colored lenses are limited; they do not correct astigmatism or presbyopia.

Our providers will select the appropriate lens to correct your vision:

  • Spherical , Toric, Aspheric, Multifocal, Multifocal Toric
