Joshua M. Dudek, OD
Dr. Joshua Dudek recently graduated from University of Missouri St Louis College of Optometry and sees patients at both our Fairbury and Pontiac offices. Dr Dudek is originally from Marion, IL and is excited to practice in our rural community.
Before his optometry education, Dr. Dudek earned a degree in Biology from the University of Southern Indiana in December 2019. Dr. Dudek graduated at the top of his UMSL optometry class in May 2024. His varied clinical externships have provided him with a well-rounded experience in diverse settings:
- Affinia Healthcare in St. Louis, Missouri, where he quickly gained an appreciation and passion in providing comprehensive eye care services focusing on accessibility and community health in the diverse community of St. Louis.
- University Eye Center at UMSL, where he served as a student clinician in a variety of clinical specialties including: Dry Eye, Contact Lens, Ocular Disease, Primary Care, Pediatrics, and Vision Therapy clinics.
- The Villages VA Outpatient Clinic in The Villages, Florida, where he honed his skills in patient care within a veteran-focused environment.
- Talley Eye Institute, gaining valuable experience in advanced ocular diagnostics and treatment while learning from some of the top Ophthalmologists in the country.
- Chickasaw Nation Medical Center, Indian Health Services, where he contributed to both routine and medically oriented eye care in the underserved native communities in rural Oklahoma.
Dr. Dudek’s dedication to optometry and patient care has been recognized through numerous awards and scholarships, including: Missouri Optometric Foundation Clinical Optometry Award, American Academy of Optometry’s Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care, Robert A. Koetting Scholarship, American Academy of Optometry’s J. Pat Cummings Scholarship, Student Services Award, Student Ambassador of the Year, and Community Service Award.
Dr. Dudek is particularly passionate about dry eye management and ocular disease. His commitment to community service is evident through his volunteer work with ONEsight, where he has provided eye care to underserved populations.
As a self-described “extroverted extrovert,” Dr. Dudek is known for his personable and approachable nature. His enthusiasm for eye care and dedication to improving patient lives make him a wonderful addition to our team. We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Dudek to Livingston County and look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly make in our community.
